What we do store

Only what's needed to run the service. This is the complete list.

• Your Relieve Inbox accountYour name, email address and password hash (or sign-in identity). While you're signed in, your session records your IP address and browser, and we note which hours you were active.
• Connected mailboxesEach mailbox's address and provider, the icon and color you pick for it, and the access and refresh tokens that let us act on it. Tokens are used only for the actions you request.
• Your latest scanFor each sender it found: their address and display name, how many messages they've sent you and how many are unread, when the latest arrived, how those messages were categorized, and the sender's unsubscribe link. No subjects. The next scan replaces it.
• Rules and labels you saveSender rules, category overrides, Marketer and Recruiter labels, and on Pro, rule sets and cleanup schedules.
• What you do in the appA dated log of the actions you take here: signing in, linking or removing a mailbox, running a scan, cleaning up, unsubscribing, saving rules or schedules, reaching the Free plan's limits and starting a checkout. Each entry holds counts and settings only, such as how many messages a cleanup moved. Never a subject, a message or a sender's address. We use it to see where Relieve Inbox works and where people get stuck.
• Cleanup talliesFor each sender you clean: how many of their messages you've moved to Trash, and when. Clearing a tally hides it but keeps the lifetime total for our usage statistics. We also count your deletions each month to apply the Free plan's cap.
• Billing recordsYour plan, what you bought and when, the amount and any promo code, whether you paid by card or PayPal, and the Stripe or PayPal reference numbers for each charge.

How mailbox access works

We connect through Google's or Microsoft's official sign-in, so we never see your mailbox password. To sort your mail we read each message's headers: sender, subject, date, and the headers bulk mail carries, such as the unsubscribe link.

The permission you grant also covers what you ask us to do: move mail to Trash, empty Trash permanently, and, when a sender only accepts unsubscribes by email, send that one-line request from your mailbox. Gmail describes this as full access to your mail, because Google requires it for permanent deletion. Every cleanup shows a preview before it runs, and you can revoke access from your Google or Microsoft account at any time.

When you open a message to preview it, we fetch it from your provider and pass it straight to your screen, with remote images blocked until you choose to load them. It isn't saved.

When you remove a mailbox

We delete its access tokens straight away, so we can no longer reach that mailbox, and it disappears from your account. Its other records, such as rules and cleanup tallies, are archived rather than erased, partly so a removed address can't be re-added for 60 days. You can also remove Relieve Inbox from your Google or Microsoft account, so the permission itself is gone too.

Who else handles your data

Only the services Relieve Inbox runs on, and only to run it: our web host, our database provider, Stripe or PayPal for payments, and Google or Microsoft for your mailbox. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.

What we won't do

• Sell your data or share it with advertisers.
• Read your messages to sort them. Sorting uses headers only.
• Send email as you, except an unsubscribe request you've asked for.
• Use your data to train AI models.
